AEW Dynamite airs tonight (July 22) with a live show emanating from The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the final episode of Dynamite during the four week build to Redemption, which takes place on Sunday (July 26). AEW has put Darby Allin in an impossible situation Darby Allin is an insane person who has been trying to blow up Kevin Knight ever since the guy turned on him a couple months ago. Darby’s risky stunts were going to continue until he got a shot at Knight’s TNT championship. Those babyface tactics worked, and now Darby is getting his title match tonight on Dynamite. He celebrated the occasion by using a flamethrower to set a car on fire with the words ‘Kevin needs to be humbled.’ That’s where the good news ends for Allin. The bad news is that this is an impossible match to win, because Knight happens to be main eventing the Redemption pay-per-view in a match against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. It’s booking malpractice for Knight to lose his title on the go home show while AEW is simultaneously asking fans to fork over PPV money to take him seriously as the newest main event star in the promotion. That’s why Kevin Knight has to win tonight’s title match. The main question is, how will AEW go about booking Darby to lose? Knight could win clean, but that doesn’t set Darby up for anything at Redemption. The more likely scenario seems to be that someone else on the AEW roster will get involved, and that person will go on to fight Darby and his endless explosions at Redemption. Who will that person be? It could be one of the other 447+ guys aligned with Knight in the Don Callis Family, but that doesn’t sound very interesting. What about Swerve Strickland? He’s been missing from AEW and is a big star worthy of facing Darby at the PPV. Alternatively, maybe Don Callis realizes most of his henchmen aren’t all that effective and decides it’s time to pay for the people-hurting services of The Hurt Syndicate. I don’t know how it’s happening, but Darby Allin can’t possibly win the TNT title tonight. Tune into Dynamite to see who screws him over to potentially set up a new match at Redemption. The rest of the card Kenny Omega is also in action tonight. The AEW world champ is teaming up with Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley in a trios match against Callis Family members Jake Doyle, Brian Cage, and Hechicero. It’s an obvious win for the babyface side, but will Moxley’s mentorship rub off on Ospreay in a way that doesn’t sit well with The Cleaner? Will the Young Bucks show up for a fight if Moxley’s disdain for The Elite causes him to get violent with Kenny? AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion defend their titles tonight against the Sisters of Sin in a No Disqualification match. That stipulation is asking for trouble from outside parties like Mercedes Mone and Thekla. Will Julia Hart and Skye Blue really lose in AEW just days after becoming the new Artist of Stardom champions? Speaking of Thekla, she has a face-to-face confrontation in the ring tonight with Willow Nightingale, before they fight over the AEW women’s world championship at Redemption. That PPV name no longer applies to Kenny Omega’s world title story, but it fits well enough with Willow’s recent comeback from injury. Will the woman who stands tall at the end of this segment be the one who loses on the PPV? How many times will Thekla use the phrase “dumb bitches” during her promo? Finally, Jay White is scheduled to face Clark Connors in a singles match tonight. This is White’s first match on Dynamite since March 2025. Will the rest of The Dogs and Bang Bang Gang wait until the match is over before they show up to incite a chaotic brawl? Other stuff to keep an eye on – Tommaso Ciampa has made it clear that the Psycho Killer is not afraid of The Painmaker. That means Ciampa vs. Chris Jericho at Redemption is now No Holds Barred. Will one of these men show tonight just how far over the line they are willing to go in order to get the job done? – ROH World Champion Bandido earned a title match against AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher at Redemption by slapping a WANTED poster at his chest last week. Do Brody King and Bandido get to beat up some Callis Family fodder tonight to put some shine on Bandido before he loses on Sunday night? – AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are defending their belts at Redemption against PAC and Claudio Castagnoli.
