Darmstadt defeats Arminia Bielefeld to earn first 2. Bundesliga victory

Darmstadt secured their first win of the season on Friday, beating Arminia Bielefeld 2-1 to climb out of the 2. Bundesliga basement. Lee Ho-jae opened the scoring three minutes into his first start for the hosts, capitalizing on an assist from Noah Weißhaupt. Marius Wörl leveled the score for Arminia Bielefeld, marking his second goal in consecutive matches. The match remained tied until Leon Jensen conceded a penalty for a handball late in the second half. Smit converted the spot-kick five minutes from time to seal the victory for Darmstadt. Both clubs now hold four points after five matches played this season. Florian Kohfeldt will lead Darmstadt against Wolfsburg next week, while Arminia Bielefeld is set to host Heidenheim.
