Davenport Speedway hosts Hawkeye Futurity vintage race car event

Davenport Speedway held the Mississippi Valley Vintage Race Car Association’s Hawkeye Futurity on Saturday, featuring several historic vehicle classes. The event included competition for Caged Sprints, Non-Caged Sprints, Midgets, Super Modifieds, Midwest Jalopies, and Midwest Vintage Late Models. Winners in the vintage categories were Doug Sylvester, Ben Buchholz, Michael Hulsing, Austin Honts, and Dino Rodish. In the Koehler Electric Street Stocks feature, Scotty Pratt secured the win after holding off a late charge from Kyle Anderson. The evening also featured Powder Puff and Mechanic races. The track schedule continues with the Night of Destruction on September 19, which includes a demolition derby and a trailer race. The season concludes on September 25 with the Sprint Invaders.
