David Fifita close to new contract with Rabbitohs after strong season

David Fifita is poised to receive a lucrative new contract from the South Sydney Rabbitohs following a strong performance in the 2026 NRL season. After joining the Rabbitohs from the Gold Coast Titans, Fifita has excelled under coach Wayne Bennett. Currently contracted until the end of 2027, he may enter free agency on November 1, but reports indicate the Rabbitohs are preparing a three-year offer. This comes as the club resumes contract negotiations after previously pausing them earlier this year. Other off-contract players, including Latrell Mitchell and Campbell Graham, will also be considered in the upcoming talks.
