Dawid Kownacki nears permanent exit from Werder Bremen for Pogoń Szczecin

Dawid Kownacki is nearing a permanent departure from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen to join Pogoń Szczecin. The 29-year-old striker is reportedly set to sign a two-year contract with the Ekstraklasa side, which includes an option for an additional season. Negotiations regarding the terms of the transfer remain ongoing, and it is not yet clear if a fee will be required. Werder Bremen may allow the move to take place without a transfer fee to clear the player's salary from their wage bill. Kownacki, whose contract with the German club expires next summer, previously spent time on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha BSC. The Polish transfer window remains open until September 9.
