Dayton Dragons advance to Midwest League Championship Series for the first time

The Dayton Dragons reached the Midwest League Championship Series for the first time in franchise history after a 5-0 victory over Great Lakes on Friday. Mason Morris and four relievers combined to limit Great Lakes to five hits at Day Air Ballpark. Damian Ruiz drove in three runs with a fourth-inning double and later scored on a catcher's balk to pad the lead. Ryan McCrystal added a solo home run in the sixth inning to finalize the scoring. The Dragons now move on to face Quad Cities in the best-of-three championship series. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday in Davenport, Iowa, with the Dragons hosting Game 2 on Tuesday.
