DAZN secures U.S. media rights for NBA and NHL teams

Summary

DAZN has initiated its entry into the U.S. sports media rights market by finalizing agreements with MSG Networks and YES Network for streaming rights to regional broadcasts. This deal encompasses teams like the Knicks, Rangers, and Yankees and represents DAZN's first significant U.S.-based media rights acquisition. Following this, DAZN also acquired exclusive local broadcast rights for the Minnesota Timberwolves for the upcoming season. These moves occur amidst a push for greater presence in the U.S. market, particularly after the collapse of Main Street Sports Group left several franchises seeking new distribution agreements.
