Deepak Hooda is returning to play for Baroda in domestic cricket after a five-year absence. The move follows a public falling out with captain Krunal Pandya in 2021, which resulted in Hooda leaving the team for Rajasthan and a subsequent disciplinary ban. Snehal Parikh, the Baroda Cricket Association CEO, confirmed that the parties have reconciled and all internal issues are resolved. Hooda, 31, has maintained a first-class career average of 45.39 and previously represented India across 31 white-ball appearances. Meanwhile, the association has retained Jitesh Sharma as a white-ball guest player and appointed former India pacer Munaf Patel as the mentor and pace bowling coach for the academy in Vadodara.
