Demi Vollering wins women's road race world title in Montreal

Demi Vollering secured the women's road race world title in Montreal, continuing her strong season. She successfully defended against a late challenge from Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, finishing the race in four hours 45 minutes and nine seconds. Earlier in the competition, several riders, including defending champion Magdeleine Vallieres, crashed, impacting their chances. Vollering had previously won titles at the Tour de France Femmes and Giro d'Italia Women this year, as well as several one-day classics during the spring.
