Denny Hamlin criticizes Hendrick Motorsports' struggles in 2026 season

During a recent episode of Actions Detrimental, Denny Hamlin commented on Hendrick Motorsports' disappointing mid-2026 performance. He noted that several Chevrolet teams, including Spire Motorsports, have outperformed HMS, which is unusual given HMS's previous dominance. Hamlin's remarks included a jibe about Spire being a 'satellite team' to JGR, following Spire's competitive standing and JGR's ongoing lawsuit against them. Despite acknowledging that HMS remains capable of improvement, Hamlin pointed to their struggles in the standings, including a three-race stretch without a top-10 finish and a challenging result at Watkins Glen in May where all HMS drivers finished outside the top 20. JGR has found success early in the season, contrasting with HMS's recent difficulties.
