Denver Broncos place six players on injured reserve before season opener

The Denver Broncos head into their Week 1 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs with six players on injured reserve. The team designated offensive tackle Frank Crum and tight end Caleb Lohner for short-term injured reserve, making them eligible to return after four games. Offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo is also sidelined on the reserve/physically unable to perform list with a knee injury. Four additional players are on season-ending injured reserve: center Michael Deiter, defensive end Matt Henningsen, linebacker Levelle Bailey, and outside linebacker Drew Sanders.
