Denver Broncos waive outside linebacker Drew Sanders with injury designation

The Denver Broncos waived outside linebacker Drew Sanders with an injury designation as the team finalized its initial 53-man roster. Sanders, a third-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, has struggled with injuries throughout his career. After playing in 17 games as a rookie, the defender missed the entirety of the 2025 season while recovering from a foot injury. He was also sidelined for most of the current training camp and preseason due to an undisclosed injury. During his time in Denver, Sanders appeared in 21 games and recorded 32 tackles and one sack. Following his release, Sanders will be subject to the NFL waiver wire where other clubs may submit claims for the former Arkansas player.
