Denzel Aberdeen granted fifth year of eligibility after court ruling

Denzel Aberdeen is set to receive a fifth year of eligibility following a judicial ruling from a U.S. District Court judge in Colorado. The court granted a class-wide preliminary injunction that allows all high school Class of 2022 athletes who exhausted their eligibility in the spring to play again. Now back at Florida, Aberdeen previously played for Kentucky and is expected to replace Xaivian Lee as the Gators’ point guard. Florida head coach Todd Golden has supported Aberdeen's eligibility, emphasizing the rationality of allowing him to compete again as he completes his degree.
