LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 02: Derek Chisora enjoys a lollipop whilst being interviewed ahead of his Heavyweight fight against Deontay Wilder during the Dereck Chisora v Deontay Wilder: 100 press conference at York Hall on April 02, 2026 in London, England. (Photo by Paul Harding/Getty Images) | Getty Images Derek Chisora was meant to walk off into the sunset in his 50th pro fight in front of his home fans in London this past April. While the turnout was great, Chisora didn’t get the result he would’ve liked, losing a split decision to Deontay Wilder. With that lingering dissatisfaction and a whole boatload of money still there to be made, Chisora admits he’s likely to return for another fight with Wilder. “The rematch is in the cards,” Chisora said. “I think the rematch will be in the cards. So right now Turki Alalshikh said he wants to put it on and he wants to do something big for the rematch. So I said ‘you know what, it’s about time you started giving me some of that money.’ “Listen, you know retirement is hard. There’s certain things we don’t speak about in life called retirement. People think when you retire you go home. No, it’s hard…Retirement is coming soon, we don’t know what day it is going to be.” With neither Wilder nor Chisora really having anything demonstrably better to do at the moment, it seems highly probable that this rematch does in fact come together, particularly if Alalshikh is willing to finance it.
