DeSales girls lacrosse reaches state final, Jerome and UA boys lose

The DeSales girls lacrosse team advanced to the Division II state final with a 14-13 win over Cincinnati Mariemont on June 3 in Centerville. Caroline Cross scored the decisive goal with 33.9 seconds remaining. Central Ohio boys teams suffered losses, as Upper Arlington fell 8-7 to Cincinnati St. Xavier and Dublin Jerome lost 12-5 to Cleveland St. Ignatius. DeSales will compete for the state title against Bay Village Bay on June 7 at Historic Crew Stadium, while St. Xavier faces St. Ignatius in the Division I final on June 6.
