Deshaun Watson addresses character scrutiny amid QB competition with Shedeur Sanders

Summary

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson discussed the criticism surrounding his position in an interview before facing the Pittsburgh Steelers. He acknowledged scrutiny of his performance but expressed discomfort when the criticism shifted to personal attacks on his character. Watson’s current standing as QB1 remains firm despite Shedeur Sanders’ strong preseason performance, as he led the Browns to a 27-24 victory over the Steelers on October 1, pushing the team’s record to 3-1 this season. With Watson performing well statistically, Sanders is poised for limited action as the backup, awaiting further opportunities.
