Detroit Free Press Marathon needs volunteers for race weekend

As the Detroit Free Press Marathon approaches from October 16-18, organizers report a need for more than 4,000 volunteers, with less than 60% of positions filled. Groups, schools, and individuals are encouraged to register by October 5. The 2025 marathon saw a record attendance of 26,000, with expectations for around 30,000 participants in 2026.
