Detroit Lions draft Derrick Moore to bolster defense alongside Aidan Hutchinson

Summary

The Detroit Lions drafted Derrick Moore with the 44th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to strengthen their defense. After finishing the 2025 season with a 9-8 record and dealing with significant injuries, the Lions faced challenges, particularly in their defensive performance. The team struggled last year, finishing with the second-highest injury rate, which impacted their pass-rush and run-stop rates. With the addition of Moore, an All-Big Ten edge rusher from Michigan, the Lions aim to improve their defensive line and better support Aidan Hutchinson in the upcoming season.
