Detroit Lions host New Orleans Saints for NFL Week 1 matchup

Summary

The New Orleans Saints travel to Ford Field on September 10, 2026, to open their regular season against the Detroit Lions. New Orleans enters the contest missing key personnel, as both Alvin Kamara and rookie Jordyn Tyson remain unavailable. Head coach Kellen Moore begins his second season with the Saints, looking to build on the momentum generated late last year. The team expects a heavy workload for receiver Chris Olave and new running back Travis Etienne Jr. to offset the early-season absences. Players like Devaughn Vele, Juwan Johnson, Barion Brown, and Bryce Lance are also expected to see increased targets as the offense adjusts to the current roster limitations.
