Detroit Lions place running back Isiah Pacheco on injured reserve

The Detroit Lions placed running back Isiah Pacheco on injured reserve Monday, sidelining him for at least the first four games of the 2026 season. The move follows a back injury that complicated his recovery after he originally sustained an MCL strain during training camp. Head coach Dan Campbell noted that the back issue remained touch-and-go leading up to the roster deadline. Pacheco is now ineligible to play or practice until at least the October 11 game against the Arizona Cardinals. To address roster depth, the team re-signed tight end Tyler Conklin and added wide receiver Dominic Lovett to the practice squad. Detroit opens its regular season against the New Orleans Saints on September 13.
