Detroit Lions re-sign tight end Tyler Conklin after roster cuts

The Detroit Lions signed veteran tight end Tyler Conklin on Tuesday, two days after releasing him during final roster reductions. Conklin, who joined the team in March, was originally omitted from the initial 53-man roster as the franchise prioritized depth provided by Brock Wright and Jackson Meeks. The 31-year-old brings eight years of NFL experience to the position group, having recorded 270 receptions for 2,645 yards and 11 touchdowns throughout his career. His return to the organization provides the team with additional flexibility behind Sam LaPorta and Wright. The Lions have not specified the terms of the deal or the corresponding roster move required to accommodate his arrival. Conklin remains in Detroit following a brief absence from the active squad.
