Detroit Lions sign former Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie to practice squad

The Detroit Lions signed former Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie to their practice squad on August 31, 2026. This move follows Bachie's release during the team's final 53-man roster cutdowns one day earlier. Bachie, who is entering his seventh NFL season, participated in training camp with Detroit after previously playing for the Tennessee Titans. Over 66 career NFL games, including seven starts, he has recorded 77 tackles and two passes defended. During his collegiate career at Michigan State from 2016 to 2019, he appeared in 39 games and finished with 284 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Bachie remains with the organization as a practice squad member following his departure from the active roster.
