Detroit Lions sign tight end Thomas Gordon to practice squad

The Detroit Lions began assembling their 2026 practice squad by reportedly signing tight end Thomas Gordon. The move follows his release during the team’s final roster cuts on Sunday. Detroit finalized its 53-man roster by retaining Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, and Jackson Meeks at the tight end position. While the Lions have not officially confirmed the transaction, the organization is permitted to sign 16 players to the practice squad starting Monday. Gordon previously competed for a roster spot throughout training camp as part of a crowded position group.
