Detroit Medical Center becomes medical provider for Freep Marathon

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is named the official medical provider for the Detroit Free Press Marathon, scheduled for October 2026. A team of nearly 100 healthcare volunteers, including doctors and first-responders, will be present to assist approximately 30,000 participants during race weekend. Dr. Erin Brennan, an emergency medicine expert, will serve as the lead physician. DMC takes over from Henry Ford Health, which previously held the role. The Health and Fitness Expo will occur on October 16 and 17, with races on October 17 and 18.
