Detroit Tigers adjust rotation to give Keider Montero extra rest

The Detroit Tigers have reorganized their pitching rotation to allow Keider Montero additional recovery time. Originally slated to pitch on August 21, Montero will now miss this start after the team decided he needed extra days off. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch confirmed the decision was made in light of Montero's recent performance, where he allowed three earned runs in five innings during his last outing against Pittsburgh. Drew Anderson will pitch against the Royals on Saturday, and a bullpen game is planned for Sunday, with Framber Valdez starting on Monday against the Rays. The team anticipates returning to Montero for the series against the Dodgers from August 28-30.
