Detroit Tigers move Matt Vierling to 60-day injured list

The roster change opens a 40-man spot for left-handed pitcher Brant Hurter, who was activated following his own injury recovery. Andrew Sears was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. The organization originally sought to rely on Vierling for defensive versatility throughout the year. With his move to the 60-day list, he is no longer eligible to return to the active roster before the season concludes and will focus on recovery for 2027.
