The Detroit Tigers outrighted right-handed pitcher Tanner Rainey to the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens on Wednesday. This move follows the club designating the nine-year veteran for assignment on Monday. Rainey, who joined the Tigers on a minor-league contract this past offseason, had his contract selected by the team on August 11. Over six appearances with Detroit, he recorded a 3.86 ERA across seven innings of work. The roster adjustment occurs ahead of the Tigers' series finale against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The Twins hold a lead in the current three-game set, having outscored the Tigers 26-3 in the first two meetings of the series.
