Dewi Lake to captain Wales in summer internationals against Barbarians
Summary

Dewi Lake has been appointed captain of the Wales rugby team for their summer internationals, starting with a match against the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Saturday. Lake, who is moving to Gloucester from Ospreys, led the team during the 2025 autumn series and 2026 Six Nations while Jac Morgan was injured. Morgan, who dislocated his shoulder during the Six Nations, will be available to play alongside Lake. The summer tour features matches against Fiji, Argentina, and South Africa in July, but 13 players from English and French clubs will be unavailable due to the fixture not falling within the World Rugby window.
