The San Francisco 49ers played the Tennessee Titans in their 2026 NFL preseason opener on August 13, losing 19-13. In a game featuring many backups, rookie wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling stood out, catching seven passes for 63 yards, including a 32-yard reception. Stribling's performance was highlighted by his quick start, being the second NFL receiver in a decade to make seven catches in the first 20 minutes of a preseason game. The 49ers' first draft selection, Stribling, developed a strong connection with quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who completed 12 of 14 passes for 102 yards before leaving due to injury.
