Dhruv Jurel scores century as India declares first innings at 503

Dhruv Jurel scored a hard-earned century in Colombo, contributing significantly to India's first innings total of 503 for 9, declared on Day 2 of the ongoing Test. The pressure on Jurel has been notable, especially with Sarfaraz Khan challenging for his spot. After a disappointing last series against South Africa, this has been a vital opportunity for Jurel to secure his place in the team. His century comes after scoring only 29 runs in his previous four innings, showcasing his improvement when it mattered most. Jurel's partnership with Mohammed Siraj proved crucial as they navigated early pressures from Sri Lankan bowlers at the Sinhalese Sports Club.
