Dillon Gabriel shines in preseason, complicating Browns' QB situation

Summary

In a preseason game against the New England Patriots on August 28, 2026, Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel excelled, completing 12 of 15 passes for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half. Gabriel's impressive performance is notable as he has been largely overlooked in the ongoing quarterback battle involving Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. The Browns won the game decisively, 37-13, but questions remain about the team's QB depth and how they will manage the situation moving forward. With Gabriel finding his rhythm, the decision on the starting quarterback may become more complicated as the season approaches.
