Diogo Leite arrives in Rome to finalize transfer to Lazio

Portuguese defender Diogo Leite arrived at Fiumicino Airport in Rome on Sunday afternoon to complete a move to Serie A club Lazio. The 27-year-old enters the deal as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Bundesliga side Union Berlin. The transition follows the departure of central defender Alessio Romagnoli, who recently moved to Al-Sadd. Upon his arrival, Leite traveled to the Formello training center to undergo a medical examination. He is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Biancocelesti, which includes an option for a fourth year. The transfer marks a return to Serie A proceedings for the former Porto youth player.
