DJ McKinney records pick-six in Notre Dame debut against Wisconsin

Notre Dame cornerback DJ McKinney recorded a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown during the team's season-opening win against Wisconsin. The transfer from Colorado played 43 defensive snaps at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, eventually securing a larger role in the secondary after rotating in during the first half. McKinney’s performance included a scoring play that helped key a second-half surge for the Irish. Following the game, he participated in a Lambeau Leap alongside his teammates to celebrate the victory. Coach Aaron Henry, who previously recruited McKinney, noted that the cornerback has continued to adjust well since arriving at Notre Dame. McKinney, who recorded three interceptions during his 2024 season, chose to wear number two this year.
