Dmitry Bivol scheduled to defend titles against Callum Smith in December

Dmitry Bivol will defend his unified WBA, IBF, and WBO light heavyweight titles against Callum Smith on December 12 at the UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The fight was agreed upon in late August, pending WBO sanctioning, which has now been granted after a nearly two-year suspension of title fights in Russia. Both fighters earned their current titles in February 2025, but have only fought once since then—Bivol defeating Michael Eifert earlier this year. Smith, recovering from injury, was previously slated to face David Morrell, who fell to a surprising defeat against Zak Chelli.
