The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired catcher Ben Rortvedt from the New York Mets for the third time in roughly one year. Pitcher Chayce McDermott goes to New York as part of the trade. Rortvedt, who has spent time on the injured list this season, is hitting.235 with six home runs in Triple-A. With starter Will Smith out for several weeks due to neck inflammation, Rortvedt’s addition provides depth at catch.
