On August 3, 2026, the Los Angeles Dodgers traded for pitcher Kris Bubic from the Kansas City Royals. In exchange, the Dodgers sent right-handed pitching prospect Carlos Duran to Kansas City. Bubic, who is currently on the injured list, has had a strong performance in the past but has struggled with injuries this season. The trade is regarded as a low-risk move for the Dodgers as they strengthen their bullpen ahead of a potential playoff push, while the Royals look to gain value from a player with injury concerns. Bubic is expected to return in August, allowing Los Angeles to assess his contributions as the season progresses.
