The Los Angeles Dodgers traded for pitcher Tarik Skubal on August 3, 2026, aiming to bolster their roster as they pursue a third consecutive World Series title. Despite Skubal's impressive track record, including being a two-time Cy Young Award winner, the team continues to struggle with significant offensive issues, particularly from players Kyle Tucker and Mookie Betts. Their offensive slump and injuries to key pitchers, including Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow, raise concerns about the team's postseason readiness. The effectiveness of Skubal alone is uncertain in addressing these challenges.
