Dodgers activate Will Smith and Dalton Rushing from injured list

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated catchers Will Smith and Dalton Rushing from the injured list on September 1. Alongside these returns, the team activated pitcher Justin Wrobleski and recalled infielder Alex Freeland from Triple-A Oklahoma City. The organizational shakeup also included the decision to designate catcher Ben Rortvedt for assignment. To accommodate these roster additions, the club optioned an unnamed center fielder to the minor leagues. These moves occur as the team finalizes its active roster for the remainder of the regular season. The Dodgers are restoring depth to their catching corps as the campaign enters its final month.
