Dodgers and Blue Jays trade minor league pitchers after trade deadline

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays completed a trade involving two right-handed pitchers on Tuesday. The transaction occurred after the Major League Baseball trade deadline, as the deal solely involved minor league personnel. The Dodgers acquired 20-year-old Sebastian Rodriguez, who is currently assigned to rookie ball. In exchange, the Blue Jays received Jose Rodriguez, a 25-year-old who has reached the Triple-A level with the Oklahoma City organization. Jose Rodriguez previously signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2019 and carries a 4.71 ERA over 33 Triple-A appearances this season. Sebastian Rodriguez recently turned 20 and posted a 6.00 ERA across seven games in the Dominican Summer League.
