Dodgers' Dalton Rushing sidelined with UCL partial tear after Cubs game

The Los Angeles Dodgers received concerning news regarding catcher Dalton Rushing following a 5-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs on August 4. Rushing has been placed on the injured list with a partial tear in the UCL of his right elbow. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that Rushing will not throw for several weeks but hopes he can avoid surgery. With Rushing out, the Dodgers moved to acquire Ben Rortvedt and Hunter Feduccia before the trade deadline, both of whom will now provide options behind the plate. Will Smith remains sidelined with an inflamed disk, expected to be out for more than a month.
