Emmet Sheehan and Joendry Vargas earned monthly league honors following their performances throughout August. Sheehan, a pitcher for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, secured Pacific Coast League pitcher of the month after posting 24 strikeouts and allowing only one run across 17 1/3 innings during his three late-month starts. He is scheduled to join the Dodgers for a weekend series against the Washington Nationals. Meanwhile, 20-year-old infielder Joendry Vargas was named the California League player of the month for his performance with the Class-A Ontario Tower Buzzers.
