Dodgers trade for Tarik Skubal, boosting World Series hopes

Summary

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired pitcher Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, further strengthening their rotation amid injury concerns. This addition, which includes a significant trade for top prospects Zyhir Hope, River Ryan, and Brady Smith, positions the Dodgers as favorites for a third consecutive World Series title. Skubal, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, joins a rotation that also includes Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Questions remain regarding Ohtani's health and how he will fit into the pitching plans as October approaches. Skubal's performance will be closely monitored following recent elbow surgery.
