Dodgers trade three prospects for Tarik Skubal ahead of deadline

The Dodgers acquired two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal just before the trade deadline, strengthening their pitching rotation for the remainder of the season. In exchange, Los Angeles sent Zyhir Hope, River Ryan, and Brady Smith to their respective teams. Zyhir Hope, a consensus top-100 prospect, had an impressive July with a.372 batting average for Double-A Tulsa. Ryan, who switched from hitting to pitching, has had a solid year in Triple-A before being sidelined by injury. Smith, a third-round pick in 2023, made his pro debut in June 2025 after recovering from Tommy John surgery.
