Dodgers win series after 6-1 victory against Tigers at Comerica Park

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-1 on Sunday at Comerica Park, claiming the three-game series. Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow allowed only two hits and one run over seven innings of work to suppress the Detroit offense. Teoscar Hernández drove in runs for Los Angeles with a 434-foot home run in the sixth inning, while the Dodgers added three runs in the eighth following wild pitches from Tanner Rainey. Framber Valdez took the loss for Detroit, allowing three runs across six innings. The Tigers have now dropped five consecutive series and currently sit 5½ games out of an American League wild-card berth. Detroit begins a seven-game road trip on August 31 with a series against the Minnesota Twins.
