Dolphins rookie edge rusher Trey Moore leaves preseason game with injury

In their second preseason game on August 22, the Miami Dolphins rested many starters to avoid injuries. However, rookie edge rusher Trey Moore, who had been designated a starter, suffered a left leg injury in the first quarter and was unable to put weight on it as he left the field and was later carted off to the locker room. The injury occurred while he pressured Giants quarterback Jameis Winston on a second-and-5 play. After Moore's injury, the Dolphins took precautions and removed other key rookies for the rest of the game. Miami selected Moore in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft and had high expectations for his role this season.
