Dolphins rookie Kadyn Proctor studies film of Rodger Saffold for new role

Miami Dolphins rookie offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor is transitioning from offensive tackle to left guard as he prepares for his first professional season. Although Proctor played primarily at tackle during his 39-game college career at Alabama, team personnel shifted his position due to the current roster composition involving Patrick Paul and Austin Jackson. To assist with the transition, teammate Aaron Brewer suggested Proctor study the technique of former NFL lineman Rodger Saffold. Saffold, a 13-year veteran who played for the Rams, Titans, and Bills, earned both Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors during his career. Proctor noted that he is currently reviewing game film of Saffold to better understand the nuances of the guard position. While Proctor maintains a larger physical frame than Saffold, the coaching staff is emphasizing the move to provide the rookie with a clear pathway to contribute along the interior of the line.
