Dominic Canzone homers as Mariners defeat Red Sox 3-1

Dominic Canzone hit a solo home run, and Logan Gilbert allowed one run on three hits over 6 1/3 innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Boston Red Sox 3-1 on Sunday. The game was scoreless until the second inning when Canzone connected for his 12th home run of the season. Nate Eaton tied the game for Boston with a home run of his own in the third inning. Seattle regained the lead in the fifth with a key RBI single from Cole Young, and Canzone added to the lead with a fielder's choice in the sixth. The Red Sox's Payton Tolle gave up three runs on six hits in six innings. Seattle will face Pittsburgh with George Kirby starting on Tuesday, while Boston will take on Denver with Jake Bennett starting on Monday.
