U.S. Soccer announced that outgoing MLS commissioner Don Garber will chair the federation's Soccer Forward initiative. Garber has led MLS since 1999 and is scheduled to transition to a role as chairman of the league on Jan. 1, 2027. Larry Berg is slated to replace Garber as MLS commissioner at that time. In his new position with U.S. Soccer, Garber will work with partners across government and the soccer community to expand access to the sport at the grassroots level.
