Doncaster Rovers sign Lincoln City striker James Collins on loan

Doncaster Rovers completed the signing of striker James Collins on a loan deal that runs until January. The 35-year-old forward arrives from Lincoln City as he continues his recovery from knee surgery. Collins has been sidelined since December 2025 following an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered during the previous campaign. He is expected to return to competitive action in November. Doncaster manager Grant McCann expressed his intent to support the former Republic of Ireland international's rehabilitation process during the loan spell. The club views the veteran forward, who has tallied over 230 career goals, as a significant asset for the remainder of his recovery period.
