St. John's forward Donnie Freeman will miss the entire 2026-27 season after suffering a non-contact torn Achilles during a workout. Head coach Rick Pitino confirmed Freeman underwent successful surgery performed by Dr. Martin O'Malley. Freeman, a former five-star recruit, had previously averaged 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season.
